North Shore AI is a sophisticated AI Assistant embedded directly into the CREF Operating System™. It efficiently aides users in daily system tasks. This component is encoded with financial industry knowledge and is finely tuned to support lenders and bankers in their work. By utilizing this engine, users can experience significant productivity gains throughout the system. The AI assistant speeds up and improves tasks while leveraging expertise and judgement.
Additionally, this engine can be used across all phases of the loan life cycle, including the front-end LOS and back-end Servicing and Asset Management modules. It operates on a retrieval augmented generation (RAG) process for ChatGPT4. Furthermore, it uses “prompt engineering” to manage lending process tasks. This involves a series of questions and analysis requests directed at the Large Language Model (LLM).
Moreover, generative AI enables users to ingest new loan data from documents, generate narrative for underwriting and loan review, and to chat intelligently with the system at the borrower, deal, or portfolio level.

Users can access North Shore AI by navigating to the top right corner of any screen in the system and clicking on the AI icon.
Once clicked on, the chat function will pop-up on the right-hand side of the screen.
Here users can start a conversation by asking the AI engine questions about their deal.
